Sugarflair Colours Food Colouring A317 Editorial Review
The Sugarflair Paste Colour in Pastel Apple Green is a versatile product for adding color to various types of desserts. The gel-like Consistency makes it easy to control the amount of color you add to your sugarpaste, fondant, buttercream, or royal icing. However, it may not be suitable for use with chocolate. While the pastel apple green color is vibrant and appealing, it does not have the ability to transform the color of white chocolate. If you're looking to achieve a pure white color in your chocolate, it is recommended to use a different food coloring specifically designed for chocolate. Customers have reported that the Sugarflair Paste Colour works effectively with royal icing and does not alter the Consistency of buttercream. However, it is not recommended for brushing onto fondant icing to create a glaze or shine effect. For that purpose, an edible glaze spray would be more suitable. In terms of quantity, one 25g pot of the Sugarflair Paste Colour is likely enough to color a 10" cake and an 8" cake. However, it is important to note that the reviewer has not used this specific color for coloring cakes before, only the stronger colors such as baby blue. Additionally, the reviewer suggests using butter or Trex for an ivory-colored sponge if desired. Overall, the Sugarflair Paste Colour in Pastel Apple Green is a versatile coloring option for various types of desserts, particularly sugarpaste, fondant, buttercream, and royal icing. It may not be suitable for use with chocolate and may not provide a glaze or shine effect when brushed onto fondant icing. The quantity of one 25g pot is likely sufficient for coloring two cakes of different sizes.
