Pop Rock 88697302752 Editorial Review
**** The “Original Album Classics: Pickin' Up The Pieces / Poco / Crazy Eyes / From The Inside / A Good Feelin' To Know” collection offers an extensive and nostalgic journey through the early works of Poco, one of the unsung heroes of American rock and country music. This compilation includes five of their first six albums, encapsulating the essence of the band that laid the groundwork for future acts like the Eagles. The release allows both long-time fans and new listeners to explore the band’s evolution from their energetic debut, “Pickin' Up The Pieces,” to the more contemplative and sophisticated sounds of “Crazy Eyes.” Critics and fans alike laud the quality of the music encapsulated within this collection, highlighting standout tracks penned by the talented Timothy Schmit, whose contributions remain influential. The juxtaposition of youthful exuberance and the refined craftsmanship typical of the 70s rock scene truly shines through these records. While some critics mention a longing for the inclusion of the live album “Deliverin’,” the Consensus remains that this set represents some of the best work from Poco and is a tremendous bargain. Fans appreciate the effortless blending of rock and country influences that Poco pioneered, and for many, this set serves not just as a memorabilia but as an essential listening experience that highlights the band’s artistry. Whether you are reminiscing about the past or discovering Poco for the first time, this collection promises to deliver a captivating auditory experience that celebrates a band that arguably deserves more recognition in music history. **
