The Evercade VS Retro Premium Pack offers a nostalgic gaming experience for retro enthusiasts. The Console's small and lightweight design, reminiscent of the old-school NES, is complemented by a cover that closes over the two cartridge ports. This allows players to have a wide selection of games to choose from at any given time. The controllers included with the Console are decent, though not spectacular. They offer 8 buttons, a d-pad, and other essential controls, making them suitable for most Evercade games. However, it would be great to see more controller options in the future. The included cartridges offer a mixed selection of games. The Technos collection is Considered weaker, with Double Dragon 2 and Combatribes standing out as the best. The Data East collection, on the other hand, is highly praised, featuring classics like Burger Time and Lock n' Chase. Both collections offer co-op beat-em-ups, platformers, and puzzle games, giving players a variety of genres to enjoy. The cartridge cases are also well-designed, resembling Sega Genesis cases but smaller in size. They add a nice aesthetic touch to the overall presentation of the Evercade VS. With about 30 different cartridges available as of August 2023 and more to come in the future, players have a vast library of games to explore. Additionally, monthly system updates offer bonus games of the month, allowing players to try out fun indie games before their official release. However, some customers have reported issues with the Console. Some experienced problems with the controllers and Wi-Fi connectivity, but these were resolved by doing a factory reset and running a system update.
