Hacksaw Ridge is an outstanding movie based on the true story of Desmond Doss, a Conscientious objector who volunteers to serve as a medic during WWII and becomes the first Conscientious objector to receive the Medal of Honour. Andrew Garfield did an excellent job in portraying Desmond Doss, and the whole cast performed brilliantly in this war film. The sets and battle scenes were incredibly realistic and helped to tell the story of Doss's heroism. The balancing of the more intimate scenes with the extensive ensemble sections of the film was well-executed, and the writing was superb. The film brings to light the character of a real hero and his convictions and is undoubtedly worth watching.
